Tooth Sensitivity Management

When the outer protective layer of the teeth is worn off, the inner layer can be a source of sudden, sharp, shooting pain when one takes hot or cold food, or even when a gush of cold air blows through the teeth. The wearing off of the enamel (outer protective layer) can be due to cavity or tooth brush abrasions (in the crown) or gum disease (in the roots). Management involves correct diagnosis of the cause of sensitivity (most important) followed by treatment from by right specialist.
